Substitute Teacher Fired over Weapons

Michael Martinez, a substitute teacher at Española Middle School, was arrested by police for bringing weapons onto the school’s campus Sept. 24 after a confrontation with Assistant Principal Wilfredo Aguilar, police reports state. Martinez was charged with two counts of unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon on school grounds after police found him with a telescoping baton and a small knife.
