Sundevil Coach Preaches Faith in Turnaround

(SUNfoto by George Morse) Española Valley High School football coach Joe Jiron tells his team they have to believe after practice Aug. 6 at Española. The Sundevils are looking to improve after back-to-back 2-8 seasons. Española scrimmages with McCurdy High School Friday and opens its season Sept. 3 hosting West Las Vegas. Jiron, a former assistant coach at Capital High School in Santa Fe, will run the ball from an I-formation on offense. The Sundevils compete in District 2AAAA and Jiron believes the district title is up for grabs.
