Sundevils Close Deal on Two District Wins

(SUNfoto by George Morse) Española Valley High School’s Jared Garduño drives to the basket against the Santa Fe Demons in the Sundevils’ 64-57 victory over Santa Fe in its District 2AAAA opener Jan.22 at Santa Fe. Garduño finished with 22 points. The Sundevils were ahead 35-18 at halftime. Santa Fe came back in the second half and cut the lead to three points in the fourth quarter. Española is 10-9 on the season and 2-0 in District 2AAAA.
