Sunflower Seeds Delivered

Published:

Most of the children in the Española Public School District received a very special envelope May 6 at their noon meal drop site.

Through the generosity of Clifford Ross, director of Celebrate Planet Earth in Santa Fe, more than 1,800 packets of giant sunflower seeds, science activities and a little book called “Every Seed Counts”, were donated to our students.

We are grateful to Moving Arts Española for providing the space where a group of wonderful volunteers gathered to put together the materials.

Superintendent Fred Trujillo, director of district Student Nutrition Patricia Romero and the warehouse personnel were very supportive and instrumental in this project moving forward.

Celebrate Planet Earth is sending the Giant Sunflower seed packets to students all over the country for $1.00 each. Their aim is to inspire millions of children to celebrate and protect the Earth through actions large and small.
