Three Wanted in Chama Stabbings

State Police are looking for three suspects after three men were stabbed March 5 in a fight in Chama.

Robert Mulligan, 32, his brother Mark Mulligan, 24, and Dustin Friday, 24, all of Chama, met the three suspects at the corner of 5th and Pine Streets in Chama shortly before midnight, State Police Sgt. Ken Olson said. Suspects Alejandro “Joker” Lujan, 28, Chris Trejo, whose age was unreported, and Toby Vigil Jr., 28, allegedly stabbed Robert Mulligan four times and beat Mark Mulligan and Friday, Olson said.

“We don’t know that much about the incident,” Olson said. “All I can tell you is the victims met the suspects on 5th and Pine in Chama, a fight broke out, and that’s what caused all the injuries.”

Robert Mulligan was treated at Española Hospital and released Sunday, Olson said. Mark Mulligan and Friday were treated by paramedics at Mulligan’s residence, where the injured men returned after the attack, and released.

Arrest orders for the three suspects have already been signed, Olson said. Lujan is wanted on two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, tampering with evidence, conspiracy, bribery of a witness and aggravated battery. Trejo is wanted on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery with intent to inflict great bodily harm, conspiracy, tampering with evidence and aggravated battery. Vigil Jr. is wanted on two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated battery, Olson said.

Olson said he did not want to release too many details about the fight until police locate the suspects and get their side of the story.
