TILA P. VIGIL, 75, a resident of Chimayo, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her son, Ruben J. Vigil; daughter, Angie Vigil; husband, Florian Vigil; parents, Frank and Louisita Pacheco; brother, Canuto Pacheco and nephew, David Lopez. Tila was like a mother to her grandchildren and was very loving and caring. Her passion was tending to her family and caring for her beautiful flowers. Tila was kind hearted and welcomed everyone in her home and would not let them leave without eating. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, family and friends. Mrs. Vigil is survived by her grandchildren, Leroy J. Vigil, Tony A. Vigil and companion Deanna Lovato, Crystal F. Vigil all of Chimayo, Jeremy Vigil of Alcalde and Roxanne and Julian Vigil both of Bernalillo; sisters, Cidelia Lopez of San Pedro, Bernie Martinez of Española and Genoveva Vigil of El Llano; sister-in-law, Eulalia Pacheco of Chimayo; great-grandchildren, Jadyn Lopez of Rio Rancho, Jeremiah Vigil of Española and Isaiah Martinez of Chimayo and numerous other relatives and friends. Public visitation was Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. Burial followed at the Nuestra Señora de Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Chimayo with the following serving as pallbearers, Joe and Manuel Vigil, Larry Pacheco, Andrew Ortiz and Sammy and Eric Martinez. Honorary pallbearers named are, Deanna Lovato, Margie Pacheco and Sandra and Geraldine Martinez.
