‘Tripping Hard’ and Rolling Around in Puddles

The bloody man

May 29

4:02 a.m. Two people were shooting at the Española Pathways Shelter, then fled on foot.

8 a.m. A Little Warriors Daycare caller was arguing and yelling with someone and said to send the police.

9:54 a.m. A Dixon caller said they’ve been getting phone calls since last night and the person on the phone knew their address and wanted money.

10:20 a.m. A walk-in report was taken at RASO for a stolen gun.

11:53 a.m. A Missouri caller said she was scammed by a woman in La Mesilla who took her deposit and rent, then canceled the lease.

12:21 p.m. A Santa Claran Casino Hotel guest was stuck in the elevator on the seventh floor.

2:11 p.m. A car was reported stolen from the Ohkay Casino.

2:28 p.m. A caller said someone in a pickup truck was driving crazy through the Lowe’s Home Improvement parking lot and threw something at their vehicle.

4:46 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a man walking nears Wells Fargo and covered in blood.

5:33 p.m. A caller reported her brother was assaulted by a detention officer at the Rio Arriba County Detention Center.

5:34 p.m. A Dollar Tree caller wanted a homeless person to be dispersed because they were doing drugs on the side of the building.

5:40 p.m. A Walgreens caller said there’s a bloody man pacing back and forth and they want him removed.

5:52 p.m. A caller wanted a group of people removed from behind the old Rio Grande SUN building. They said there were five people all wearing different clothing with towels over their heads.

6:38 p.m. A caller reported she was possibly following her stolen vehicle on State Road 74 and County Road 56 A in Chamita.

7:21 p.m. A breaking and entering was reported in Tierra Amarilla.

7:43 p.m. A caller said a man is in front of their house next to a bicycle and looks to be unconscious.

8 p.m. A caller heard about 10 shots fired in the Hernandez area.

8:37 p.m. A caller said her granddaughter locked her in a room, then slit her wrist before leaving.

8:48 p.m. A Burger King caller reported being assaulted by a man in a van who threw food at him. A second caller said a woman went into the restaurant and was fighting with employees.

9:56 p.m. A caller requested help because men were fighting in the Lowe’s parking lot.

10:04 p.m. A fire was reported on East Laguna Street.

 

Neighbor attacks dog

May 30

1:04 a.m. A vehicle was blocking the Taco Bell drive-thru. The driver parked his truck for the night and walked across the street to his house.

7:27 a.m. A Medanales caller reported a man against who she has a restraining order was at her house.

8:49 a.m. A La Joya Street caller said there’s a homeless encampment behind the building.

9 a.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a man passed out in a vehicle with the windows up at the Dollar General in Alcalde.

10:28 a.m. A Dixon caller found his friend dead, with a weight tied around his neck.

11:39 a.m. A caller reported a person jumped the fence and was trying to get into the Murphy’s Express building.

11:48 a.m. An Old Hospital Road caller said two men are trying to make a camp behind her house.

12:52 p.m. A man went to RASO and reported someone is stealing gas from his property.

1:08 p.m. A Smoker’s Choice caller requested a welfare check on a man who’s been sitting on a rock and swaying back and forth and appears to be out of it.

1:38 p.m. A caller reported that a man stabbed him in the head with a piece of glass near O’Reilly’s.

2:01 p.m. A La Joya Street caller said a man was dumping his personal trash in the dumpster on their property. He confronted the man, who fled.

2:10 p.m. A Chimayó caller wanted to speak with a deputy and show him video footage of his neighbor going onto his property and hitting his dog.

2:15 p.m. A man near the dumpster at Peace Keepers was waving a knife around.

3:36 p.m. A Walmart caller reported a drunk man is in the rear restrooms and is making employees uncomfortable.

5:24 p.m. A Rodeway Inn caller said she has a restraining order on her ex-husband who showed up at her work.

5:27 p.m. A caller reported a driver is driving around the Santa Claran Casino parking lot with an open container.

6:23 p.m. A Santa Cruz Country Store caller said a man was threatening customers and harassing staff.

7:19 p.m. A County Road 135 in Hernandez caller reported a driver was speeding and yelled and cussed at her, then took off.

7:59 p.m. An officer detained a man on Calle Rivera and Akin Lane who tried to flee on a dirt bike.

10:03 p.m. A caller said her granddaughter attacked her.

11:05 p.m. A Rodeway Inn caller reported her ex-husband, against whom she has a restraining order, is parked in front of the door and still harassing her at work.

11:46 p.m. A Calle del Rio caller said a homeless vagrant that roams the area threatened to burn down a caller’s house and she wanted to report it.

 

Spacing off

May 31

3:33 a.m. A man was shot in the back near the Valdez Bridge.

5:43 a.m. A man was acting weird in the back of Lowe’s.

6:43 a.m. A GRD Health Center caller said for the past several days, items have been missing when they go to work. They think someone is getting in the building somehow.

7:41 a.m. A homeless man was trying to steal containers and gloves from the bakery at Center Market.

8:27 a.m. An ambulance was requested for a possible overdose at the Española Detention Center.

8:38 a.m. A Rodeway Inn caller reported a car was severely damaged sometime last night.

8:38 a.m. A nurse at the Española Hospital reported someone in a car brandished a gun and fired multiple rounds in the air.

9:07 a.m. An East Pueblo Street caller said a man is standing in the road, “spacing off” and they’re worried about him.

11:59 a.m. A Zia Credit Union caller noticed the door to the ATM was partially open.

12:16 p.m. A Santa Clara Drive caller reported a man is acting erratic, flattening car tires and threatening to bust windows with a bat.

2:31 p.m. A Speedway caller said a man is panhandling, walking back and forth and bugging customers.

3:09 p.m. A Velarde caller reported her neighbor drunkenly ran over her 12-year-old daughter’s foot yesterday.

3:28 p.m. A woman said her ex has been trying to contact her but she has a restraining order against him.

5:07 p.m. A Zia Lane caller reported a vehicle went onto her property and a shirtless man got out and took photos of her property.

6:38 p.m. A caller came across a dead body behind the strip mall on Railroad Avenue.

7:30 p.m. A truck pulling a trailer passed three or four cars in the median near Socorro’s Restaurant and continued going south.

7:35 p.m. A Calle del Sol caller reported about 20 people were fighting outside with bats, crow bars and tasers.

9:11 p.m. A Chacoma Court caller said she just got home and someone ran out the back door of her house and into a field.

9:25 p.m. A Hernandez caller reported the neighbors approached them and slapped her and punched her 13-year-old nephew.

10:49 p.m. A caller said a truck followed him through town.

June 1

12:56 a.m. An overdose was reported in Alcalde.

2:43 a.m. A Hindi Lane caller said a man is threatening to shoot his house.

2:54 a.m. A caller reported her drunk friend is refusing to get in the vehicle and keeps walking into the road.

5:39 a.m. An overdose was reported in Alcalde.

9:12 a.m. An overdose was reported in Dixon.

12:17 p.m. An overdose was reported on Starlighter Loop. Narcan was administered.

12:42 p.m. A caller said a man holding a stick is walking in the middle of the road in La Mesilla and waving the stick at cars.

2:49 p.m. An Alcalde caller reported someone doxxed him and put his phone number on a public TikTok profile.

3:27 p.m. An officer found a 7-year-old riding a scooter near Lucero Center. He took the child home and the mother said he likes to sneak out.

3:46 p.m. A caller reported nine cars are speeding and running others off the road in Hernandez.

5:07 p.m. An overdose was reported in Chama. 

5:20 p.m. A Family Dollar in Lumberton manager said a man is very drunk, swearing at customers, getting aggressive and throwing things at customers and around the store.

5:34 p.m. A vehicle was reported stolen from the Lucero Center.

6:16 p.m. An East Chamisa Street caller reported a woman is defecating on his fence in the backyard.

8:50 p.m. An overdose was reported at the Dollar Tree in Española.

8:56 p.m. A Little Caesar’s caller wanted homeless people in the alley to be dispersed.

11:03 p.m. A Calle del Sol caller said the neighbor’s children are knocking on her door and trying to fight her and family members.

 

‘Fix it or perish’

June 2

12:28 a.m. A West Calle Rosario caller reported chasing two men and a woman to the park after they broke into her house.

12:34 a.m. A Hernandez caller wanted to speak with a deputy because his mother-in-law is harassing and calling him.

9:29 a.m. A San Juan Elementary caller said a man stole an industrial blower out of a contractor’s truck.

9:35 a.m. A State Road 581 and County Road 16 caller reported a large pile of leaves “smells like death.” The reporting officer said there was no dead body.

10:28 a.m. A Starbucks caller reported a man was panhandling.

10:31 a.m. An O’Reilly’s caller wanted to speak with an officer about a customer that was claiming there was a fraudulent $300 charge made to their account.

11:03 a.m. A Department of Labor caller said a man was trying to file an unemployment claim but was having issues. He told an employee to “fix it or perish.”

12:21 p.m. A Fresh Budz caller said he fired an employee about a year ago and every two weeks, the ex-employee goes and dumps a bunch of cigarette butts all over his property.

1:42 p.m. A caller reported a man who shot at his is parked at Garcia Tires.

3:10 p.m. A Cañones caller reported a woman’s death.

4:12 p.m. A Calle Cunyo caller said he got home and saw someone getting into his house through the bathroom window.

4:33 p.m. A Taco Bell caller reported a homeless person with a dog is in the restaurant, harassing customers. They also said the dog is aggressive.

4:34 p.m. A Hernandez caller said three people are having a party, drinking and being loud.

5:09 p.m. A Subway/Speedway caller reported a man is trying to clean customers’ windows.

6:13 p.m. A Calle Rivera caller noticed items missing from her front yard.

6:32 p.m. A West Calle Jose Pablo caller said her grandmother damaged her son’s toy car by pulling it away from him. 

8:09 p.m. A Walgreens caller reported a man is rolling around in the puddles and they think he might be “tripping hard.”

11:25 p.m. A caller said he was threatened by people on U.S. Highway 285 and Forest Road 222 and they took his SIM card.

 

Cuff him

June 3

4:27 a.m. A Calle de Pajarito caller reported a 13-year-old boy is outside, fighting with a man. The man threatened the caller, saying he would shoot her and he tried to get into her house.

5:54 a.m. A suicidal patient left the Española Hospital on foot, wearing a hospital gown.

7:48 a.m. A Taos man said he was removed from a property because he was trying to report bodies buried on the property. He wants to speak with a deputy.

8:39 a.m. A FerrellGas caller reported a puppy was abandoned in the parking lot and they’re afraid it might wander into traffic.

10:25 a.m. A Walgreens caller said a man is harassing customers and approaching women.

10:56 a.m. A New Mexico Treatment Center caller reported the suspect in a murder is at the nurse’s desk.

11:21 a.m. A woman was banging on the doors of the Ojo Sarco Community Center and screaming and yelling.

12:32 p.m. A caller reported a shirtless man has traffic stopped in front of Starbucks because he’s in the middle of the road, yelling at traffic and spiting on windows.

1:03 p.m. A man and woman were in a car near Dandy’s Burgers and smoking something off a foil.

3:36 p.m. A caller reported a man was leaning against a tree on North McCurdy Road and Bellas Lane and had his pants down. The caller thought he might be overdosing. The caller phoned again and said the man was masturbating and there are children in the area.

3:41 p.m. A Bubble Zone caller said a man in a truck asked him what he was looking at he and he felt threatened.

4:12 p.m. A caller reported a man was unconscious near the Rio Grande SUN. The man woke up and left.

4:45 p.m. A man was passed out in front of the door at Domino’s pizza.

5:41 p.m. A man was loitering at Triple S and threw himself on the ground and requested an ambulance.

7:14 p.m. A Walmart caller said a man threatens to burn down the store and threatens employees and is refusing to leave. He said the only way he’s leaving “is in cuffs.”

7:28 p.m. A caller reported her 15-year-old grandson beat her and she wants to report it.

10:59 p.m. A Calle Serrano caller said a man who’s not allowed at the house is there. He’s refusing to leave and is banging on the door.

 

Showing their butts

June 4

1:50 a.m. A Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputy requested back-up on El Llano Road for a driver passed out with drug paraphernalia in his lap.

6:10 a.m. A Walgreens caller said it appears two people are bathing and showing their butts.

7:39 a.m. A truck hit the side of El Moreno and damaged the poles.

11:26 a.m. A Coyote caller said her father called and said his brother attacked his friend.

11:38 a.m. An overdose was reported at the Dollar General in Alcalde. Narcan was administered.

12:40 p.m. A Century Bank caller said a woman was trying to cash a stolen check.

3:01 p.m. A Lowe’s caller reported three people were doing drugs and shooting.

3:33 p.m. A man was washing windows in the parking lot and making people uncomfortable.

4:38 p.m. A Hernandez caller said teens were behind her house, shooting a gun.

5:02 p.m. A Motel 6 caller reported a woman was sexually assaulted by a family member.

5:02 p.m. A caller said her mother is trying to attack her.

7:26 p.m. A Mountain View Street caller was having issues with the neighbor’s children and their dad.

8:31 p.m. Homeless people had a campfire burning near the Dollar Tree in Española.
