Trojans Dropped by 1 Point in NRG Semifinal

(SUNfoto by George Morse) Mesa Vista’s Lorenzo Sanchez drives in for a layup against the Mora Rangers in the Trojans’ 62-61 loss to Mora in the semifinals of the Northern Rio Grande tournament Jan. 7 in Pojoaque. The Rangers sank two free throws with 10.2 seconds left to play in the game and held on for the victory. Mesa Vista defeated Peñasco 67-64 in double overtime Jan. 8 to take third. Sanchez was named to the all-tournament team.
