I’m finding it difficult to feel sorry for an industry that blows one-third of its revenue (500 million dollars) on advertising high-profit drugs like Lipitor, Arimidex, and Tamoxifen, cholesterol and hormone inhibiting drugs that can cause dementia faster than normal aging can without drugs because they indiscriminately block all cholesterol production in the body.
Remember, 70 percent of all our cholesterol is in the brain where neurosteroids are produced from the cholesterol itself to support the entire nervous system from head to toe! This includes the ability to remember stuff. Big Pharma turns a profit on newly-introduced drugs in 90 days. That’s phenomenal.
Maybe we shouldn’t blame Big Greedy Pharma for spending so little on actual research (less than 2 million dollars peryear). Maybe we should blame ourselves for forgetting about all the God-given herbs and remedios that our grandparents and parents grew up with that are still available to us here in our beloved Rio Grande Valley.
