(SUNfoto by Ralph Chapoco) Alcalde Elementary School teacher Karen Naranjo reads with her former students Oct. 3 in the school’s library. Twelve of her students had their poems published in a book distributed by the National Schools Project, an organization that encourages elementary students to write. Naranjo said this has been the first time in two years students from New Mexico have been published.
