4-H Counselors Prepare for Camp

    Rio Arriba County 4-H has selected four counselors for its annual camp, scheduled for June 5-7 at Ghost Ranch.

    Counselors completed training in March on leadership, teamwork, games and activities, stages of youth and goal setting. 2009 counselors are as follows:

    • Katie Salas, Senior 4-H member. This is Salas’ first year in 4-H and her projects include baking, digital photography, crochet and New Mexico flavor. She is a teen leader in her club for the leadership project.

    • Genevieve Salas, Senior 4-H member. This is Salas’ first year in 4-H and her projects include public speaking, digital photography, physical fitness, rabbit and New Mexico flavor. She is a teen leader in her club for the leadership project.

    • Natasha Trujillo, Senior 4-H member. This is Trujillo’s sixth year in 4-H and her projects include horse, rodeo, rabbit, animal diseases, digital photography, trees, rifle and breads. She is a teen leader in her club for the leadership project. 

    • Natalia Coriz, Senior 4-H member. This is Coriz’s 13th year in 4-H and her projects include leather craft, braiding, cross stitch, ceramics, sewing, breads, housing and interior design and foods for the future. She is a teen leader in her club for the baking and cloverbud projects.
