Nelson G. Morfin
Nelson G. Morfin, 82, Taos, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2008 following a lengthy illness.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gertrude Gallegos and Mary Aragon and Lillian Jimenez and one infant son.
Mr. Morfin is survived by his wife, Viola Morfin, Taos; children, Marvin Morfin, Las Cruces, Nelson Morfin Jr., Ojo Caliente, Louie Morfin, Colorado Springs, Colo., Jerome Morfin, Albuquerque; Steve Morfin, Taos; Kenny Morfin, Taos; Lorraine Morfin and Terri Oliger, both of Durango, Colo.; brothers, Sergio Morfin, Coyote; Joe Morfin, Hernandez; Jake Morfin; sister, Annabelle Posey, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and numerous other relatives and friends.
A rosary was recited Nov. 2 in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home. Burial was held Nov. 3 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Marvin, Nelson Jr., Louie, Jerome, Steve and Kenny Morfin
