John J. Sanchez, 75, of
Española went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 17, 2009, after a short battle with cancer. John was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Simonita Sanchez; a brother, George; sister, Minnie; nephew, Hector, Walter and Michael and other family and friends. John is survived by
his daughter, Anna Martinez and husband Andrew; granddaughters, Andrea and Reanna; brother, Tony and wife Margaret; sister Rosalind and husband Clyde; sister-in-law, Trinnie; nieces, Thedra, Gloria, Christine and Debbie; nephews, Wilbur, Urban, Bonefacio, Marvin, Leonard, Leon and Danny; special cousins and friends, Mike, Floyd, Jimmy, Paul, Clyde and many other family and friends. John served in the U.S. Army during the Koran War. He worked as a machinist by trade before traveling to see the world, then settled back in Española. He worked for the Española schools for over 15 years. After retiring he enjoyed fishing,
welding, working on cars, wood carving, leather work and most important to him, he enjoyed helping people with reflexology. We wish to thank Odyssy hospice, especially Cindy Cross and to Casa Rael and staff, especially to Liz, Cathy, Matilda and Margaret for their extraordinary care. There are also too many of you to name individually, but you know who you are and more importantly, God know who you are. Cremation is being planned. Arrangements are pending.
