Gilbert S. Montoya, 50, Velarde, died as a result of an automobile accident Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009 in Embudo.
He was preceded in death by his parents Amadeo and Orselia Montoya, brother Benjamin Montoya, maternal grandparents Auelino and Necanora Duran and paternal grandparents Elizar and Manulita Montoya.
Mr. Montoya is survived by his wife Wanda S. Montoya and their two sons Samuel and Byron, step-children; Anthony Ortiz and Vanessa Montoya, three grandchildren; sister Mary Montoya; brother Jimmy Montoya and many other relatives and friends.
Recitation of the rosary was held Jan. 19 at Block-Salazar Mortuary. The mass of Christian burial was offered Monday morning at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde with Fr. Mark Schultz officiating.
