Donna Lee Chacon, 41, Albuquerque, died Friday, March 20, 2009 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her brother, Anthony R. Chacon; maternal grandparents, Luis and Sylvia Duran and paternal grandparents, Jose Ignacio and Rosaura Chacon.
Ms. Chacon was a 1985 graduate of Pojoaque High School and a member of the U.S. Navy. She enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, hanging out with her friends and going to the beach.
She is survived by her children, Derek Chacon of Pojoaque, Cherice and Tyler Lopez both of Santa Fe; father, Tony Chacon, Oroville, Cal.; mother, Jennie Aragon, Pojoaque; brothers, David Chacon, Pojoaque, Darren Chacon and Kevin Aragon, both of Albuquerque; sisters, Barbara Chacon, Harrisburg, Penn. and Lisa Chacon, Pojoaque and many other nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A rosary was recited March 24. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated March 25 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pojoaque. Burial followed at Santa Fe National Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Eddie Chacon, Anthony Chacon, Kevin Aragon, Adrian Ortiz, Pete Aragon, and Jeffery Kellog.
