Maria Felonis Montoya, 79, Vadito, died Sunday, March 1, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Aristeo Montoya; parents, Nemecio and Amadita Romero; sister, Maria Manzanares; brothers, Victoriano, Saturnino and Donecimo Romero.
Mrs. Montoya is survived by her children, Modesta Esquibel, Genevieve Benavides, Joe Margarito Montoya, Johnny Montoya, Lourdes Depew, Rosemary Medina and Gloria-Della Gonzales; sisters, Alcarita Valdez, Rufina Martinez, Severiana Archuleta and Helen Romero; 23 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous other relatives and friends.
A rosary was recited March 3 at the Nuestra Señora de Dolores Catholic Church in Vadito. The following served as pallbearers, Michael Benavides, Jane Esquibel, Fernando Montoya, Juanita Gonzales, Joey Montoya, Gabrielle Gonzales, Nathan Medina and Alfred Gonzales. Cremation followed the services.
