The following are the livestock results of the 2008 Rio Arriba County Fair, held Aug. 2 to 3 at the Rural Events Center in Abiquiú.
Showmanship Award
Michelle Herrera was named overall Show Champ for her showmanship skills.
Beef Results
Branden Kuykendall won grand prize for his 1,248-pound steer.
Leah Schmitz won reserve prize for her steer.
Demetri Valdez and Alicia Maez took first prizes in their respective steer classes, and Michelle Herrera won first prize in the heifer class.
Rio Arriba-Bred Steers
Alicia Maez won grand prize and Michelle Herrera won reserve prize for their steers born and raised within the County.
Swine Results
Amy Tainter won grand prize in the Hampshire breed competition, and Tainter also won the showman prize.
Carlos Casados won reserve prize in the Hampshire competition.
Michelle Herrera won a grand prize for her Spotted Poland China pig.
Katie Gonzales won a reserve prize for her Duroc pig.
Branden Kuykendall won grand prize for his cross-breed pig.
Michael Manzanares won reserve prize for his cross-breed pig.
Bo Binion and Jacob Maestas won first prizes in their respective classes, both with cross-breed pigs.
Lamb Results
Anthony Martinez won grand prize for his blackface lamb.
Justin Ulibarri won reserve prize for his blackface lamb.
Eric Hanawalt-Maestas, Anthony Martinez, Amanda Sandoval and Kevin Vigil each took first prizes in their respective classes.

Karissa Sandoval won grand prize, and Justin Sandoval won reserve prize.
Cheyenne Law, Victoria Lovato and Abigail Martinez each won first prizes in their respective classes.
