Woman Kicked With Steel-toe Boots

    A Hernandez man was arrested Sept. 30 for kicking a woman with his steel-toed boots, according to State Police.

    Philip Aragon, 40, of Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo, was found on Rio Arriba County Road 1 shortly after 11 p.m., sitting next to the victim, Nancy Lovato, who was lying face down on the ground, court documents state.

    Lovato told police Aragon hit her and threw her on the ground before kicking her repeatedly on her head and body and threatening to kill her.

    Aragon was charged with aggravated battery with intent to inflict great bodily harm and aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony. He was being held at Rio Arriba County Jail on $20,000 bond plus a $381 bench warrant for failure to appear on a previous charge, Jail staff said.
