Sisters’ Fight over Chips Ends in Injury

Two sisters got in a fight with each other Monday over a bag of potato chips, according to Española Police.

A 17-year-old girl called police claiming her 18-year-old sister tried to run her over, according to dispatch logs. The girls were on Paseo de Oñate before the fight began when the elder sister left in a Ford Explorer and younger sister tried to grab onto one of the car’s door handles, Sgt. Richard Gallegos said.

The younger girl fell off the car and suffered scrapes on her face and arms, but was not badly injured, Gallegos said. The fight apparently began while the two were sharing a bag of potato chips. Both of them started struggling for the bag and calling each other profane words, Gallegos said.

    No one was arrested.

“It must have been a darn good bag or something,” Gallegos said.
