Pojoaque Middle School seventh-grader Desiree Garcia has been awarded the 2009 Kohl’s Kids Who Care award.
In December 2008, as vice-president of the Pojoaque Pueblo Boys and Girls Club’s Keystone Club, Garcia coordinated production and delivery of handmade scarves, hats and blankets for young cancer patients at the University of New Mexico Children’s Hospital.
