Abiquiú Lake will be free for day visitors Aug. 1 to 9 as part of a nationwide effort to encourage outdoor recreation.
The fee waiver includes only day-use fees for swimming beaches and boat ramps at United States Army Corp of Engineers-managed recreation areas nationwide.
In New Mexico, this includes Abiquiú, Cochiti and Conchas lakes.
Fees are still in effect for camping, camping-related services and specialized facilities such as picnic shelters and special events.

Alcohol is not allowed at Abiquiú Lake.
