Windows
Monday, April 5
• 1:20 a.m. — A woman advised 911 dispatch that one of her neighbors on Avenida Canada in Santa Cruz was being harassed by people claiming to be gang members. She said a vehicle was driving back and forth in front of the residence, and it seemed suspicious.
• 8:05 a.m. — Española Police took a report of a fight at Española Valley High School. The parties involved in the fight were separated and their parents were contacted by the time police arrived.
• 9:54 a.m. — Someone with the Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative reported that a substation on Industrial Park Road was broken into. It was unclear in the dispatch log whether anything was missing.
• 11:04 a.m. — State Police took a report about a 12 year old who was breaking windows at a North Prince Drive residence because he was told he could not play video games.
• 12:04 p.m. — A male caller said he was on the side of Rio Arriba County Road 57 after being hit in the face five times by someone. He said he did not need an ambulance.
• 12:05 p.m. — A man on Private Drive 1086 told State Police he was at a friend’s house when a man there pulled a gun on him. That man left, the caller said.
• 5:42 p.m. — Española Police took a report of a home which was broken into on Odelia Lane. Someone appeared to have entered the home through the hot tub room and left blood on the floor, according to the caller. • 7:58 p.m. — The Sheriff’s Department took a report on County Road 141 regarding a middle-aged woman who was pushed on to a stove during a case of possible domestic violence.
• 8:33 p.m. — Foster parents on County Road 17 reported they were getting harassing phone calls from the biological parents of the children.
• 8:36 p.m. — A caller on Private Drive 1550 reported that a .357 magnum had been stolen.
• 10:40 p.m. — A caller reported hearing four gunshots near Santo Niño Lane in Española.
Shampoo Bandit
Tuesday, April 6
• 8:50 a.m. — A car went off South Riverside Drive and into a construction area, according to dispatch logs. A woman who was involved in the incident told police she is diabetic, was having trouble seeing and does not remember what happened.
• 12:21 p.m. — A fight was reported at Española Middle School. School staff reported that two females who were involved were separated.
• 5:35 p.m. — Police took one adult male into custody at Walgreens on North Riverside Drive after staff there reported the man stole “numerous shampoos.”
• 6:52 p.m. — A caller on West Laguna Street told police she thinks another woman wants to fight her because she would not lend the woman her telephone.
• 10:52 p.m. — Walgreens employees told Española Police someone dropped off a prescription that had been forged for a different quantity and strength than the prescription was originally issued.
Lender’s Vengeance
Wednesday, April 7
• 8:31 a.m. — National Forest Service employees requested to meet with a State Police officer because they believed they located a grave near Monastery Road. Further investigation revealed that it was, in fact, a fire pit.
• 12:31 p.m. — There was a report of someone who paid Taco Bell with a fake $100 bill. However, staff were not sure if the bill was actually fake, but the color looked “off.”
• 1:22 p.m. — A Paseo De Oñate caller told Española Police a man to whom he owed money walked into his home and took his wallet.
• 3:04 p.m. — A Hunter Street caller reported that someone she has a protection order against jumped over a wall and attacked her.
• 4:03 p.m. — Police spoke to a woman who left four small children unattended in a vehicle parked at Walmart. They told her not to do that again.
• 4:27 p.m. — A County Road 57 caller reported another man was firing his gun and he could hear the shots ricocheting off his roof.
• 9:10 p.m. — A Highway 84/285 caller complained about someone in his yard. He said he wasn’t going to call 911 again and would “blow his gun.”
School Fights
Thursday, April 8
• 9:35 a.m. — A man was reportedly getting violent after being caught shoplifting at the Family Dollar on State Road 76 in Chimayó. State Police were dispatched to the call.
• 10:14 a.m. — A man on Calle De La Merced told Española Police officers that his ex-father in-law was harassing him and stalking him at work.
• 11:48 a.m. — Española police took a report of a fight in which two females ganged up on another female at Española Vigil Middle School.
• 12:16 p.m. — Española Police took a report of a fight between two females at Española Valley High School.
• 6:28 p.m. — A North Riverside Drive caller said someone in a red truck nearly ran over the owner of the T-Mobile store.
Dog Bites
Friday, April 9
• 3:09 a.m. — A County Road 1 caller told 911 dispatch that there was a male at the residence with a knife who was trying to fight her brother. She later said everyone left the home.
• 9:09 a.m. — A 9-year-old child was bitten by a dog on County Road 126, according to dispatch logs.
• 2:01 p.m. — A battery was reported at Española Middle School. Dispatch logs note that an officer was on the way to an emergency room to photograph injuries someone sustained. Ten minutes later, there was a report of another, separate fight between two students at Española Valley High School.
• 2:52 p.m. — Española Police took a report from the Española Military Academy in reference to a student who may have had marijuana.
• 4:22 p.m. — An off-duty State Police officer reported that he was nearly run down by a vehicle near Sombrillo Elementary.
• 7:09 p.m. — The driver of a Fed-Ex truck told Española Police he parked his vehicle on North Railroad Avenue and some juveniles “tagged” it.
• 8:32 p.m. — A 3 year old was bitten on her thigh by a dog on Private Drive 1079, according to dispatch logs. The child was taken to a doctor and the dog was tied up for a 10-day observation period.

Saturday, April 10
• 1:14 a.m. — State Police made a driving under the influence arrest following a foot pursuit. State Police call logs noted that they used a Taser on one person during the incident.
• 2:16 p.m. — State Police took a report about someone who heard shots near Santa Cruz Lake.
• 7:26 a.m. — A water pump and the trailer it sits on were stolen from a man on Calle Sierra Vista.
• 11:56 a.m. — Firefighters put out several small brush fires near the south bound lane of State Road 68.
• 6:05 p.m. — A man on Pacheco Lane reported that he was getting harassing text messages after he had been “jumped” at a barbershop.
• 7:35 p.m. — The Sheriff’s Department took a report of domestic violence along County Road 6 after a male there allegedly hit his wife with a stick.
• 7:53 p.m. — A caller from Poleo Road reported that males in a gray Honda appeared to be shooting a gun at a residence. The caller said he would call back if he saw the vehicle again.
• 8:35 p.m. — A man was taken from La Loma Place to an emergency room for bleeding after a woman said he had been hit in the head with a bat.
• 11:51 p.m. — According to the manager of McDonald’s, an employee was poked with a syringe while she was cleaning the bathroom.
No Escape
Sunday, April 11
• 8:15 a.m. — There was a single-vehicle rollover on State Road 76 and County Road 93. The dispatch log noted that all of the car’s occupants were standing beside the vehicle.
• 5:31 p.m. — Española Police took a report about a female repeatedly striking a male in the parking lot of the Ohkay Express Mart.
• 5:49 p.m. — The Sheriff’s Department reported a pursuit from Michael’s MiniMart. Later, police arrested someone on charges of driving while intoxicated, evading police and reckless driving.
