Denied Beggar Throws Fit
Monday, May 3
• 9:51 a.m. — A teenager said she was walking to class at Española Valley High School, when she was punched by another female.
• 11:19 p.m. — A Camino Carlos caller said three young men were throwing rocks at cars.
• 11:20 a.m. — A Valley Auto Sales caller told Española Police a 1986 white Firebird had been stolen. The car had damage to the driver’s side because it hit a pole when it was taken from the lot.
• 12 p.m. — A Rio Arriba County Road 80 caller said a man pointed a gun at him and attempted to enter his residence. According to 911 dispatch logs, the suspect left in a red PT Cruiser.
• 1:26 p.m. — An East Buena Vista Drive caller complained that someone was in the neighborhood selling raffle tickets. Police told a couple to stop selling raffle tickets.
• 3:32 a.m. — A Private Drive 1083 A caller complained that a female was breaking windows in the residence because the caller would not give her any money.
• 5:28 p.m. — A Star Lane caller complained about an intoxicated man who was harassing people and trying to hug the caller.
• 5:53 p.m. — A vending machine was broken into at the Española Recreation Center, according to dispatch logs.
• 6:46 p.m. — A Shadowood Lane caller complained that “a mutt is always chasing her children,” according to dispatch logs.
• 8:35 p.m. — A man at Triple S gas station reported that a heavyset man attempted to break into his vehicle.

Tuesday, May 4
• 1:34 a.m. — A West Bond Street caller complained about an intoxicated female who refused to leave. The unwanted person sat inside the residence, crying.
• 4:11 a.m. — Dispatch took a complaint of a man walking behind the Hindi Shell gas station with his pants down. The dispatch log states someone was being taken to the Española Jail and then the emergency room.
• 5:54 a.m. — A Camino Consuelo caller complained that an intoxicated man would not leave her house and he kept demanding his keys and phone, even though she did not have them.
• 6:09 a.m. — A search and rescue team looked for a hiker who had been missing since 4 p.m. the previous day. Medical units located the man on the side of a road near State Road 76 in Dixon.
• 11:47 a.m. — A man was lying in Valdez Park after crawling out of the “kiddie” area. The caller did not understand what the man was saying because he was mumbling.
• 12:47 a.m. — An Imagic Business Solutions caller found a syringe in the lobby and requested someone to come pick it up.
• 2:46 p.m. — A security guard was assaulted by a 14-year-old student at Española Middle School.
• 3:25 p.m. — A student at Española Valley High School assaulted his psychologist.
• 4:42 p.m. — A North Riverside Drive caller said he was driving to Walmart when the driver of another vehicle threatened him. The caller said his passenger was hit in the mouth by an occupant in the other vehicle.
• 7:27 p.m. — A Club Tropicana caller said a female was attacked by another female after leaving a bathroom stall.
• 9:12 p.m. — Loss prevention staff at Walmart said two people there were suspected of embezzlement.
• 9:26 p.m. — A backpack and wallet were stolen from a vehicle parked at Valdez Park. Someone had broken the vehicle’s passenger window.
School Fight
Wednesday, May 5
• 7:50 a.m. — An Española Valley High School caller reported that two male students had been fighting.
• 8:43 a.m. — A La Joya Street caller complained that two women and three men were drinking behind the Bubble Zone Laundry.
• 11:01 a.m. — A bomb threat was reported at Northern New Mexico College’s Española campus after the words “bomb threat” were found on the wall of a women’s rest room. Police treated the call as a criminal damage complaint.
• 3:03 p.m. — Another bomb threat was reported at Northern. Dispatchers noted the threat was for the arts building only. Police ended their search of the building at 3:29 p.m., noting that nothing suspicious was found. Students resumed classes about 20 minutes later.
• 3:21 p.m. — Police took a battery report regarding two male Española Middle School students.
• 3:43 p.m. — A Roadrunner Drive caller said a residence was broken into through the back door, which was pried open. Two televisions, a laptop and jewelry were missing.
• 6:15 p.m. — Walmart staff said a woman stole DVDs, ran from the store and left in a vehicle.
• 10:12 p.m. — A North Yucca Street caller complained that an intoxicated woman was attempting to climb into her window. The caller said the woman was lying on the ground outside her home.

Thursday, May 6
• 8:47 a.m. — A Mesa Vista High School administrator told the Sheriff’s office he found a blog in which a student threatened to kill him. The caller said the school would take disciplinary action.
• 10:25 a.m. — An Española Valley High School caller said a student was in possession of pain pills that were not prescribed under his name.
• 11:48 a.m. — A North Riverside Drive caller said people were drinking inside a Lincoln Continental at the Fairview Sonic.
• 11:56 p.m. — A white Pontiac Sunfire was found in a water-filled ditch on County Road 75. The passenger side of the vehicle had been shot, according to the log.
• 2:05 p.m. — A female student was assaulted at Española Middle School.
• 3:42 p.m. — A County Road 77 caller said a woman at Vista Point pulled a gun on her.
• 4 p.m. — A Sandy Lane caller said a white and brown dog was jumping all over her children. The dog was not attacking them but was scaring them, she said.
• 6:36 p.m. — A San Pedro Plaza caller said she was in her vehicle when someone walked up to the vehicle and punched a man in the face.

Friday, May 7
• 7:18 p.m. — A North Riverside Drive caller by Lowe’s Super Save complained about a panhandler who was asking customers for money and offering them beer.
• 11:20 a.m. — A booking officer was assaulted by a male at the Española Jail.
Rum Run
Saturday, May 8
• 9:08 a.m. — A rottweiler was roaming the Riana Campground at Abiquiú Lake on State Road 96, a caller reported.
• 9:26 a.m. State Police went to Private Drive 1038 in Los Luceros in reference to a man who broke down the door to a residence so he could see his son. The man fled in an unknown direction on foot, according to the caller.
• 2:10 p.m. — Highway 84 callers complained about news crews in the area “harassing” them.
• 2:24 p.m. — A 12-year-old tried to run away from her mother by Hindi Avenue because she would not allow her friend to come over.
• 3:46 p.m. — Someone attempted to steal a “gallon” of rum from Walgreens on North Riverside Drive, a caller reported

Sunday, May 9
• 1:49 a.m. — Four males were reportedly fighting outside of the Ohkay Casino.
• 8:05 a.m. — A bull was standing on the side of Highway 84, a caller reported.
• 8:25 a.m. — A Straight Arrow Road caller said someone shot at his house and car “a couple days ago.”
• 12:44 a.m. — Walmart employees said a man attempted to steal a necklace, earrings, clothing and a Mother’s Day card.
• 4:39 p.m. — A Jemez View Street caller reported a scam in which a caller claimed a bank card was de-activated and the victim needed to give out his or her card number to activate it again.
