(SUNfoto by Joe Crawford) Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s deputy Raymond Romero (left) investigates the scene of a one-vehicle crash July 13 on State Road 76 just east of Dan’s Liquor Store, as two witnesses look on. The driver, 60-year-old Gilbert Martinez, Chimayó, was driving west when he drove off the right side of the road, struck a rock wall and flipped the car, Sheriff’s deputy James Lujan said. Martinez was taken by ambulance to Española Hospital with non-life threatening injuries to his lower back, Lujan said. Martinez has not received any citations in connection with the incident.
