(SUNfoto by George Morse) Los Ojos Hatchery manager Peter Thompson looks over some kokanee salmon being raised at the hatchery for stocking into state waters. Over 27,000 kokanee from Los Ojos were stocked Aug. 3 into Heron Lake. After being closed down due to the presence of whirling disease detected at the hatchery in 2005, Los Ojos is back in the business of raising rainbow trout to stock in the state’s waters.
