(SUNfoto by George Morse) Española Valley junior Lynsey Wheeler shot state-qualifying rounds of 90 April 2 and 85 April 3 at the Black Mesa Golf Club to qualify for the Class AAAA state golf tournament. Wheeler, a transfer from Hobbs, qualified for the Class AAAAA golf tournament with the Eagles. Wheeler wants to play golf at the University of Hawaii-Hilo. She played volleyball for the Sundevils this past fall.
