Mother Will Do Full Sentence in Child’s Death

(SUNfoto by Michael Walton) Deven Martinez appeared before state District Court Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer in custody Oct. 19. Sommer said the woman would serve jail time stemming from her guilty plea earlier this year. Martinez’s attorney had asked Sommer to reconsider the sentence and instead allow Martinez to enter a rehab program.
