(SUNFoto by Jeff Tucker) State police responded with M-16 assault rifles to a report of shots fired Dec. 27 at Española’s Chili’s restaurant shortly before 1 p.m. About two dozen State Police, Española city police and Ohkay Owingeh Tribal Police responded to the E911 report and searched the area, alarming some restaurant patrons and nearby shoppers at Lowe’s Home Improvement. No one was reported injured. An Española K-9 officer said at the scene police were trying to determine if any shots had been fired.
