Jemez Valley Ends Bobcats’Bid for State

(SUNfoto by George Morse) McCurdy School’s Dennis Padilla slides into third base in the bottom of the third inning against the Jemez Valley Warriors in the Bobcats’ 7-4 loss to the Warriors May 15 at Rio Rancho High School. Jemez jumped out to a 6-0 lead before the Bobcats could score a run. McCurdy scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and threatened to score more with the bases loaded and only one out, but Jemez pitcher Darian Sando struck out the next two batters to end the inning.
