Lobos Close Season Pounding Bobcats

(SUNfoto by George Morse) Escalante’s Reynaldo Atencio ran 55 yards for a touchdown on the Lobos’ first play from scrimmage against the McCurdy Bobcats Nov. 2 at McCurdy. Atencio scored five touchdowns and the Lobos manhandled McCurdy in a 70-0 loss. Escalante, the defending Class A state champions, received the second seed in the Class A football playoffs and will play the winner of the Capitan/Fort Sumner Nov. 15 or Nov. 16 (TBD) in Tierra Amarilla in the Class A semifinals.
