(SUNfoto by Wheeler Cowperthwaite) A New Mexico State Police Agent leads William Garrett, 27, away from the Valdez Memorial Park after the agent chased and tackled Garrett in the sand in front of the playground. Garrett, accused of violating a temporary restraining order, ran from the road, over a fence and into the park, a gas can in hand, before he was tackled. Medical personnel were later called because Garrett had cut his head open after bashing it into the inside of a patrol car in which he had been placed. The agent was originally flagged down by a woman who said she had been involved in a domestic violence incident, according to E911 dispatch logs.
