(SUNfoto by Austin Fisher) A Honda Civic’s headlights drain the last of its battery as it lay waterlogged on June 4 in a ditch of U.S. Highway 84/285 in Arroyo Seco. The owner, who did not want to be named, said she and her friend jumped out of the car’s windows as water rushed inside, and swam to a nearby hillside before a Santa Fe County Sheriff’s deputy helped them recover valuables. Flooding halted traffic for nearly an hour that evening.
