The car Richard Borrego stole sits in the back of the National Guard Armory lot. Borrego allegedly used the vehicle to ram an Española Police officer’s car, pushing him toward an embankment, Nov. 12. A Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s deputy and an Española Police officer then opened fire, narrowly missing him and his pregnant passenger.
