Judge Rejects Plea Deal for Northern Embezzler

Henrietta Trujillo left the courtroom with her attorney, Albuquerque-based David Serna, after First Judicial District Court Judge Jason Lidyard rejected a plea deal. District Attorney Marco Serna, no relation, said Lidayrd rejected the deal for being lenient, but that his goal was to ensure that all the money embezzled from Northern New Mexico College was paid back by Trujillo, and that plea would have facilitated the repayment.
