Rio Arriba County Ends Census Fiestas with 30 Percent Participation

Ellen Trabka is behind that sign, sunglasses and mask. She was out waving the sign Sept. 19 in front of Washington Federal Bank on North Riverside Drive to encourage people to come into the drive-thru Census 2020 event. Trabka is Northern New Mexico College's chair of Nursing and Health Sciences. She said she stopped at the event and they "volunteered" her to get out and wave the sign. Coming from nursing, she said she understood Rio Arriba County's health needs and the funding the federal government provides.
