The McCurdy Bobcats baseball team opened their season Tuesday with a road doubleheader against Raton for a pair of non-district games.
The Bobcats did not have a chance to start last season after athletics were canceled in early March at the start of the pandemic.
Two years ago, they finished 13-5 and were undefeated in the district, but lost in the state quarterfinals as the No. 6 seed. The 2015 and 2016 state finalists will look to return to that spot this year.
