The Sundevils’ speedster junior wide receiver had a breakout day of his own in a dominant win over Santa Fe Indian School, after recovering from an early-season back injury that cost him playing time, and while still fighting a shoulder injury. Deleon caught just four passes, but that was all he needed.
On a 91-yard screen pass, Deleon shedded one would-be tackler at midfield but outside of that followed his blockers all the way down the field. He also found himself wide open for a deep 45-yard touchdown pass, which quarterback Nate Chacon placed perfectly.
“He had a great day,” coach Tylon Wilder said. “I’m super proud of Adrick.”
