Orlando Felix Salazar, 62, passed away unexpectedly on September 23rd , 2023.
Born on September 27th , 1960, in Española, NM. Orlando was a 1978 graduate of Española Valley High School where he was a member of the wrestling team winning several medals. As a young boy and teenager, Orlando participated in many sports and became passionate about martial arts into adulthood. After graduation he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where he worked in the auto industry doing collision repair which he took great pride in and matched with his love of cars. Outside of work, Orlando became an integral part of a local substance abuse recover program and he was able to help countless others through their journey to recovery.
Orlando is preceded in death by his parents Eutimio Salazar III (Española, NM) and Maria Inez Atencio (Dixon, NM), Stepfather, Robert (Roy) Atencio (Dixon, NM), Sister Wilma Ann Salazar-Martinez (Dixon, NM) and Nephew, Vincent Gerard Vigil (Grand Prairie, TX). Orlando is survived by his Son Nicolas Salazar-Snider and Grandson Nicolas Salazar-Snider Jr. both of Novato, CA. Other survivors include Sister, Patsy Salazar-Vigil (Gerard) of Texas, Sister, Jackie Salazar-Weise (Ken) of California, Brother, Steven Santistevan (Adel), Arroyo Seco, Roberta Atencio-Martinez (Eli) of Dixon, Dennis Tim Salazar (Bernadette) of Española, NM, Paula Salazar Johnson of Farmington, NM, stepbrothers Stephen Atencio of Dixon, Robert (Bob) Atencio of New Jersey and many nephews, nieces and other family.
A Memorial Service will be held at a future date to be determined.
