Ezekial Cuevas, Española Valley
Española’s linebacker and fullback got his chance in the backfield on Friday and made the most of it. He gained 28 yards on the ground and a touchdown out of the backfield, his first career score.
Ashley Gilmore, Escalante Volleyball
Gilmore’s points all seemed to come in the biggest moments in a win against McCurdy. The high-flying junior finished the match with a team-high 11 kills and five blocks in a four-set win to keep first place.
Elisa Noches, McCurdy Volleyball
The Bobcat libero kept McCurdy in a match against Escalante with her contributions. And the Bobcats stayed hot with a four-set win over Mesa Vista, having won seven of their last eight matches.
Jack Purdy, Española Valley
Purdy certainly deserves recognition for his performances in recent weeks. Against Pojoaque, the senior back touched the ball seven times, running for 59 yards and two touchdowns. That puts him up to five touchdowns and over nine yards per carry over the last two games.
