Juan Jose Valdez (Coffee Bean), 54 a resident of Alcalde, passed away peacefully as he entered his heavenly home on October 14, 2023.

Juan is preceded in death by his infant son – Lucas Valdez, grandparents – Floyd, Viola Valdez, and Ruben, Ramona Martinez, uncles – Alfred (Bully) Trujillo, Eric Valdez, aunt – Hilda Vigil and his side kick Pepper.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Juan. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing local rivers and lakes as well as hunting and creating carvings from wood, bone and antlers he would find along the way. Juan’s greatest Blessing, Pride and Joy were his children. He loved the Lord, his family, and church. 

Juan was a kind, loving and generous man who provided outreach to his community, always willing to help everyone and anyone in need. He worked at Los Alamos County for several years, then went on to become a member of the Local 412 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union. 

Juan is survived by his sons – Jacob, Noah (Kassandra) Valdez, daughter – Olivia Valdez, parents – Benicio (Bengie), Ruby Valdez, sisters – Debra (Ralph) Arellano, Liza (Nathan) Velasquez, nieces – Bridgette (Manuel) Perez, Tanisha Velasquez, nephew – Casey Trujillo, great nieces – Kaylee, Autumn, great nephew – Kayden and very special cousins Arlene Garcia and Joseph (Joe”b”) Montoya, as well as numerous loved tias, tios, cousins, and many dear friends.

Honorary Pallbearers are Joseph “Joe”b” Montoya, Richard “Richie” Guillen, Mark Vigil, Mark Olivas and Ray War. 

A Celebration of life was held at the Rock Christian Outreach.
