The police blotter is published to give readers an abridged look at criminal activity in their community and neighborhood. It is simply an illustration of what local law enforcement, funded by taxpayers, must deal with daily throughout the Española Valley.

‘Gang Stalked’
Sept. 18
12:14 a.m. A woman was found unconscious in a car on Gladys Lane. CPR was performed.
6:26 a.m. An officer was in a foot pursuit at Walmart.
7:54 a.m. An RV was parked on the side of Washington Federal and the people in it were using the bank’s electricity, even though they were told to leave.
7:55 a.m. An Alcalde caller said his distant cousins put a camper on his property without permission and won’t leave.
8:26 a.m. A Sun Loans caller reported a man went into the business and told her that he was going to put her in a hole and his girlfriend was going to “mess her up.”
9:40 a.m. A caller said a man and woman in a car in Alcalde are passed out.
11:20 a.m. A caller at the Española Hospital said she’s at a craft show and someone stole her money bag with about $130 in it.
Noon A Dixon caller said the neighbor is filming her inside her house.
1:18 p.m. A man at the Tierra Amarilla Clinic was in an ATV accident and nodding off.
1:55 p.m. A Dixon caller said he’s being harassed and has been “gang stalked” for 13 years. Someone hacked his cellphone and when he moved from Taos to Dixon, they followed him and moved in next to him.
3:34 p.m. A caller reported she’s in the hills near Hernandez and can’t walk anymore. She’s lost and needs help.
3:36 p.m. Ten homeless people near the tree at Dairy Queen were refusing to leave.
4 p.m. A caller wanted to report child abuse because a woman left her 2-year-old child in a stroller at a table, while she walked around the track.
4:39 p.m. A Starbucks caller wanted a man trespassed because he was panhandling.
5:18 p.m. A Burger King caller said a man is nodding out and refusing to leave.
5:36 p.m. A caller reported her license plate was stolen while she was shopping at Walmart.
5:40 p.m. A caller said a woman on a bicycle and other people were exchanging goods through a window near the Dollar Tree.
8:34 p.m. A Middle San Pedro Road caller reported a person is sitting on a rock across from her house, shining a light on her house.
10:06 p.m. A caller said someone got into his vehicle at the library and took laptop chargers and a bag with food.
10:23 p.m. A Calle del Rio caller reported the neighbor is yelling and threatened them.
11:38 p.m. An El Guique caller said her nephew called and said he’s going to her house and threatened to fight her husband.
Stuck in
the Elevator
Sept. 19
1:05 a.m. A Crown Lane caller reported the neighbors have a hidden speaker by his property through which he can hear them talking on the phone and can’t sleep.
11:14 a.m. A caller said there are two men near the Walgreens dumpsters, who are possibly doing drugs and have a shopping cart full of sodas.
11:37 a.m. A Rio Del Oso Street caller reported a woman is irate, yelling and throwing things over the fence.
11:53 a.m. A student at Española Valley High School was found with contraband.
12:26 p.m. A report was taken at Española Valley High School for a minor in possession.
12:33 p.m. An officer responded to a call on Jackrabbit Trail for indecent exposure.
12:59 p.m. An Alcalde caller said squatters are in the shed and refusing to leave.
1:20 p.m. A man was sitting under a sign at McDonald’s that said “no trespassing, no loitering.”
1:24 p.m. An elevator at the Española Hospital got stuck between the first and second floors, with three people in it.
2:59 p.m. A man was passed out in the driver’s seat of a vehicle in the pick-up lane at Española Elementary. Before he fell asleep, he got out of the vehicle and urinated all over.
3:17 p.m. A caller said three people are possibly doing drugs near the restrooms at Ranchitos Park.
5:14 p.m. A 9-year-old child crashed an ATV in Hernandez.
6:31 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a woman with blood on her face on U.S. Highway 64.
9:50 p.m. A caller at Pecos Valley Productions could see homeless people on the property and told them to leave using the speaker, but they refused.
9:57 p.m. A man was walking around Calle Sombra, taking mail out of mailboxes.
9:57 p.m. A man at the Santa Claran Casino Hotel swung at an officer.
10:57 p.m. A man was detained after fighting with his girlfriend and sister.
11 p.m. A car pulled into Walmart after the driver almost hit someone. The car’s driver was slurring his words and pulled a gun.
11:16 p.m. A caller reported a man in a truck on North Paseo de Oñate tried to hit her vehicle.

the Street
Sept. 20
9:05 a.m. A Denny’s employee requested a welfare check on another employee who was slumped over in the bathroom with a foil. The caller shook the man, but he was not waking up. One dose of Narcan was administered.
10:46 a.m. A Hernandez caller wanted to speak with an officer because her children were playing outside on their trampoline when a neighbor went out and began using vulgar language.
11:19 a.m. A Bellas Lane caller reported her mother is drunk, in the street and causing problems.
11:44 a.m. A Calle Quintana caller needed help getting her drunk son in the vehicle.
12:01 p.m. A Dixon caller said a driver in a pickup was tailgating and trying to run them off the road.
12:03 p.m. An Alcalde Community Center caller reported two people were smoking crack in front of the building.
12:24 p.m. A deputy pursued a car in Alcalde.
2:17 p.m. A caller said a man using a weed wacker kicked up a rock that hit their window on South McCurdy Road and La Joya Street.
2:45 p.m. A Walmart caller reported a man broke into a dumpster and took food.
4:09 p.m. A man was committing vandalism near the baseball field at Valdez Park.
7:22 p.m. A caller was driving by McCurdy Ministries Community Center and saw a person pointing an automatic gun at passing vehicles.
7:50 p.m. A caller reported their wallet with several bank cards and IDs was taken.
8:55 p.m. A woman who was discharged from the Española Hospital was refusing to leave.
Who’s Knocking?
Sept. 21
8:23 a.m. A man called another man and told him he was stuck in the mountains and had a popped tire that he can’t change. He’s been there since yesterday.
8:29 a.m. A caller reported a vehicle was driving all over the road near Ortiz Gallery in Chimayó, then hit a wall.
8:35 a.m. A Calle Olivas caller heard a couple of gunshots and when she woke up, she noticed holes in her roof.
9:44 a.m. A man’s death was reported in Dixon.
11:51 a.m. An anonymous tip was reported, saying a student at Española Valley High School was going to take a gun and knife to school and attack someone’s friends.
4:38 p.m. A vehicle hit a gas meter on State Road 76 in Chimayó. The road was shut down in both directions.
7:02 p.m. A Camino Miramontes caller said the neighbor saw a man jump her fence and break it.
11:29 p.m. A Chamita caller reported a man is knocking on her door and she doesn’t know who he is.

1:03 a.m. An overdose was reported at the Double O Bar.
7:56 a.m. A Tierra Amarilla caller returned home to find the side door and garage smashed in and about $3,000 in items taken.
8:35 a.m. A Fairview Elementary caller said someone is throwing their weeds and green waste on school property and they want to file a report.
8:57 a.m. An Ojo Sarco caller reported a pet sitter took a few things from her house valued at more than $20,000, made copies of her house keys and took other items.
9:45 a.m. A caller said there’s a vehicle off the cliff on 31 Mile Road; she saw it yesterday but wants to report it now.
11:05 a.m. A caller reported there’s a vacant home near her grandmother’s house on Camino Don Jose Merced and it appears someone is squatting in it.
11:16 a.m. A Calle Hermanas Dominicas caller left her car unattended and now her keys are missing. The caller later told a Santa Fe County deputy that she found they keys in a bush.
11:24 a.m. A North Riverside Drive caller reported two people were trying to break into vehicles in a parking lot.
11:57 a.m. A woman went to EPD to report animal cruelty and harassment by her neighbors.
12:05 p.m. A caller said there are several homeless people hanging out near Century Bank, smoking drugs.
12:58 p.m. A Chili’s caller reported a woman looked to be high on drugs and was setting off the motion cameras behind the business.
2:14 p.m. A Fairview Lane caller said she phoned yesterday after 9 p.m., but no one showed up. She said he neighbor hit her in the face with his hand and she wants to file a report.
3:21 p.m. A caller reported a person with a dog near San Pedro Sonic is jumping into traffic and trying to open people’s car doors.
6:41 p.m. A caller was being uncooperative but said a manager at Lowe’s Home Improvement fell and may have broken a leg.
7:04 p.m. A Calle Chamisal caller said a man is outside and looks pretty beat up.
7:20 p.m. An overdose was reported on Roosevelt Street.
7:55 p.m. A Dollar Tree in Española caller said a couple was kicked out for stealing and they took a photo of the caller and their vehicle, then told them to watch out.
7:59 p.m. A man was running through the Walmart parking lot, yelling at employees.
8:01 p.m. A caller at the Española baseball field on Industrial Park Road reported a softball shattered her back window.
8:43 p.m. A Community School Road caller can hear voices that are saying he’s a suspect; he wants to speak with an officer.
8:27 p.m. Three people were physically fighting in the Taco Bell parking lot.
11:23 p.m. A woman in the emergency room was irate and trying to hit staff.
11:42 p.m. A Hernandez caller said her husband brought home hitchhikers that he thought were his son’s friends and when she asked them to leave, they refused.
‘Soliciting favors’
Sept. 23
12:03 a.m. A Medanales caller reported his stepfather is fighting with the caller’s mother and grandfather.
8:45 a.m. A Velarde caller said “no parking” signs were stolen from her property and she thinks it was the neighbor.
10 a.m. A caller reported one of his classmates at Española Valley High School said he was going to shoot up the school.
12:42 p.m. A Chimayó caller said his brother went to check on his partner and found her unconscious and not breathing. The Office of the Medical Investigator was called.
2:49 p.m. A man was lost on an ATV trail near Ojo Caliente Mineral Springs. A Taos dispatcher told the man to go away from the sun and walk toward the resort.
3:07 p.m. A caller reported an older man in a truck at the Fairview Post Office was following a woman in a dress, pulling a suitcase, and was “soliciting favors.”
3:34 p.m. A Velarde caller said their 30-year-old grandson is irate and breaking things.
7:47 p.m. An Avanyu caller reported seeing four minors in a vehicle with fifths of alcohol.
8:03 p.m. A caller on her way home saw two people in a vehicle on the side of the road, beating each other.
9:50 p.m. A State Road 76 in Chimayó caller said a bullet went into his bedroom, no one was injured.

the Roommate
Sept. 24
1:28 a.m. A Camino Cielo Grande caller reported her 22-year-old son is drunk and throwing things.
8:25 a.m. A caller requested a welfare check on someone passed out in the Speedway restroom because they can smell fentanyl.
9:09 a.m. A caller said her daughter is a student at Española Valley High School and on Friday, another student threw food at her on the bus.
9:28 a.m. A house fire was reported in Coyote.
10:46 a.m. A Holy Cross School caller reported they launched rockets this morning and one of them landed in a yard across from the school. There’s a “no trespassing” sign, so they want an officer to get the rocket because they don’t want to get shot.
11:09 a.m. A Walmart caller said a woman concealed steaks in her purse and is walking through the parking lot.
12:11 p.m. An Obsidian Road caller reported getting into a physical fight with family members. He said no one is injured but he wants them to leave.
12:16 p.m. A Greenfield Road caller said the neighbor’s car was broken into this morning. The responding officer said the neighbor seemed to be confused and there did not appear to be a break-in.
12:42 p.m. A report was taken for minors in possession at Española Valley High School.
12:42 p.m. A Pizza Emergency caller said a man is refusing to pay and fell asleep in his truck.
1:46 p.m. An Alcalde caller reported his neighbor went to his grandma’s house and started a fight with his mom.
2:38 p.m. A person went to EPD to report an ongoing issue with a woman who keeps harassing them.
2:54 p.m. A Mundy Drive caller said a man chased her down the street and threatened to shoot her.
2:57 p.m. An officer was requested at Chama Middle School, to pick up a vape.
3:11 p.m. A Camino Cielo Grande caller said someone threw a beer bottle through the window of their house.
3:26 p.m. A caller from Texas reported his father in La Mesilla took his military medals and uniforms and won’t give them back.
3:28 p.m. A caller said her son threw her on the ground.
5:14 p.m. A Walmart caller wanted a man trespassed because he was harassing employees and saying racial and homophobic slurs.
5:16 p.m. An Española Hospital caller said someone vandalized her vehicle.
5:49 p.m. A caller reported a 2- or 3-year-old child was left unattended in an SUV at Walmart. The responding officer said the child was 9 years old and the stepfather was only gone about five minutes.
6:14 p.m. A State Road 76 in Chimayó caller said her roommate is a convict who’s on probation and is drunk; she wants him removed.
6:41 p.m. A caller requested a welfare check on a man on Valley Drive and North Riverside Drive, who was lying down, yelling and grunting.
