Aaron LaBadie, of Española, has been named an All-American scholar by the United States Achievement Academy for his academic performance at the Española middle school.
Scholars must earn at least a 3.3 grade point average; LaBadie was nominated for the award by teacher Debbie Salazar.
LaBadie is the son of Darlene LaBadie, of Española, and Carlos LaBadie, of Alcalde. His grandparents are Eloy Trujillo and Mary Gomez, of Española, and Mary and Ruben LaBadie, of Lyden.
LaBadie will be a freshman at Española Valley High School in the fall.
