The Life Center Foundation awarded the Cañones Early Childhood Center with a $2,500 grant for special programs.
The Center in Cañones received the grant to help fund its “Project Literacy Outreach!” program. The program seeks to provide early education and beginning reading services to children in remote villages of Northern New Mexico.
The center itself was incorporated in 1989 to give children an advantage when entering elementary school in the hopes of breaking the cycle of poverty endemic in this region.
