Celina G. Martinez,
age 77 a resident of Chimayo passed away on July 13, 2009 following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Vicenta Garduno, her brother Luciano Garduno, sons Chris and Jimmy Martinez, grandsons Christopher and Jesus Martinez. She is survived by her husband of 58 years Floyd Martinez, 5 daughters Gloria Martinez and husband Charlie of Chimayo, Frances Martinez and companion Eddie Diaz of Chimayo, Vangie Maestas and husband Frankie of San Pedro, Bertha Bustos and husband Cipriano of Chimayo, Annabelle Valdez and husband Danny of Chimayo. Close sisters-in-law Rosina (Ruth) Martinez and Ida Salazar, daughters-in-law; Clara and Beverly Martinez of Chimayo, close nieces Ramita and Antonia Martinez of La Puebla. 13 grandchildren; Tebols, Monick, Jennifer, Santiago, Rudy, Clarence, Jose, Kimberly, Victoria, Krista, Tabitha, Samantha and Tamara, 14 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. A rosary was recited on Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Chimayo. The Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday also at the Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment followed at Nuestra Senora de Dolores Cemetery in Chimayo, New Mexico. Serving the family as pallbearers were Santiago Martinez, Clarence Diaz, Rudy Martinez, Jose Diaz, Monick Martinez, and Jennifer Martinez. Honorary pallbearers were Tabitha Valdez, Samantha Valdez, Tamara Valdez, Krista Bustos, Victoria Bustos, Tebols Casados, Kimberly Martinez, Frank Maestas, Charlie Martinez, Cippie Bustos and Benita Martinez.
