The SUN has started a new feature in which the likes, interests and opinions of a different Rio Arriba County classroom will be spotlighted each week. Rodney Martinez’s Chimayó Elementary fourth grade class participated in this quick survey last week.
Favorite subject: Math won by an overwhelming majority, followed by science. Recess got two votes.
Favorite book or author: Dr. Seuss beat out R.L. Stine’s “Goosebumps” series by a single vote.
Favorite TV show: A solid tie between Hannah Montana, Robot Chicken, World Wrestling Entertainment matches and “anything on Animal Planet.”
Favorite activity: Sports are a clear favorite, especially basketball and riding bicycles. Video games and double-dutch jump rope were also favorites.
Prospective careers: Eight athletes in this class, from basketball players to a future skateboard champ. Also, a beautician, a criminal justice lawyer and a fisherman were chosen.
