Parents in the Española School District are trying once more to round up support for a District-wide parent advisory committee.
Alicia Gasca, the mother of one Velarde Elementary student and one Española Middle School student, is spearheading the latest effort.
“We need to increase parents’ involvement in our students’ (education),” Gasca said.
The District-wide group should help some parents who, like Gasca, have students at multiple schools in the District but may not always have the chance to keep up with the issues at various sites, Gasca said.
Parents are encouraged to attend the Committee’s next meeting Thursday (10/22) at 6 p.m. in the Board Room of the District’s Central Administration Office on Calle Don Diego in Española.
