Longtime Rio Arriba County political boss Emilio Naranjo, 92, is doing just fine, his daughter said.
Naranjo was in St. Vincent’s Hospital in Santa Fe last week and was rumored to be gravely ill. His daughter Margarita Naranjo said those who commented to the SUN, including state Sen. Richard Martinez, had not been to visit her father and were unaware of his true condition.
“He’s just getting better,” Naranjo said Oct. 24. “He was yelling at me today. It felt like music to my ears.”
Naranjo said she and her family are trying to keep her father’s medical matters private. She declined to comment on the state of his health, other than to say he is recovering and the situation was never as grave as rumored.
