Eugene Victor St. Martin
Gene was born in Cohasset, MN and passed away at the age of 75 on July 2, 2009 after a long battle with cancer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He married Gladys in 1955 and worked for his father-in-law delivering milk and eggs in Esko, MN. Gene moved the family to Red Wing, MN to work for the Boy Scouts of America as a District Executive. The family then moved to Cottage Grove, MN where he continued to work for the Scouts for 10 years. Gene started a new career in 1975 and began working as the manager for Cheepskate Roller Rinks. At Cheepskate he was know as “Gene, Gene the Dancing Machine.” He was in the roller skating business for 10 years. Gene and Gladys moved to Albuquerque in 1986 and owned and operated a flower shop. They sold the shop and began a 20-year career managing hotels, motels and self-storage facilities in Texas and New Mexico. They retired for the third time in March of 2008. He is survived by his wife Gladys of 54 years; sons David and Timothy; daughters Sheri and Lisa 7 grandchildren; one great grandson; and three brothers, Jack, Clarence and Lloyd. He was preceded in death by sons Jon and Barry and grandson Joshua.
