ABIQUIÚ LAKE: The fishing for smallmouth bass and walleye was slow-to-fair using power worms, creature baits, senkos, tubes and grubs. A few good-size walleye were taken by anglers using bottom bouncer/night crawler rigs.
CANJILON LAKES: The trout fishing was fair using power bait, salmon eggs, spinners, wooly buggers and Pistol Petes.
RIO CHAMA: The water flows Monday morning below El Vado and Abiquiú dams were 900 cubic feet per second and 897 cubic feet per second, respectively. The fishing was slow.
EL VADO LAKE: The trout fishing was slow-to-fair using power bait, night crawlers, spinners and spoons. The north boat ramp has been closed.
HERON LAKE: The fishing for kokanee salmon was slow, but a few were taken by anglers trolling needlefish and double whammies at 27 to 35 feet. The fishing from the bank was slow with just a few rainbow trout taken by anglers using power bait and salmon eggs.
RIO GRANDE: The water flow Monday morning at the Taos Junction Bridge was 228 cubic feet per second. The trout fishing was fair-to-good using Chernobyl ants or hoppers with a dropper, wooly buggers, copper john barrs and salmon eggs. The fishing for smallmouth bass was fair using wooly buggers and jerk baits. A few northern pike were taken using big streamers and jerk baits.
RIO PUEBLO: The water flow Monday morning near Peñasco was 6.7 cubic feet per second. The trout fishing was fair using stimulators, copper john barrs and salmon eggs.
SANTA CRUZ LAKE: The trout fishing was slow-to-fair using power bait, salmon eggs, Pistol Petes and spinners.
