ABIQUIU LAKE: Fishing was generally slow but there were a few good-size brown trout and smallmouth bass caught along the bluffs west of the boat ramp. Anglers were using fathead minnows.
CHAMA RIVER: The water flows Monday morning below El Vado and Abiquiú dams were 56 cubic feet per second and 84 cubic feet per second, respectively. Trout fishing was slow and pressure was very light.
EAGLE NEST LAKE: The lake is open to ice fishing with restrictions. The open area is between the boat ramps and out to the orange flags. Fishing this past week was slow-to-fair using ice jigs, salmon eggs and roe sacs for perch and rainbow trout.
EL VADO LAKE: The lake was mostly clear of ice Monday. Fishing was slow and fishing pressure very light.
HERON LAKE: Fishing from the bank in the Ridge Rock area was fair-to-good using salmon Eggs, power bait and homemade dough baits for rainbow trout and a few small lake trout.
JEMEZ WATERS: The water flow on the Jemez River near Jemez Springs Monday morning was 33 cubic feet per second. Trout fishing on the lower Jemez and on the East Fork this past week was fair using salmon eggs.
RIO GRANDE: The water flow Monday morning at the Taos Junction Bridge was 595 cubic feet per second. Fishing for northern pike was slow but a few fish were caught on jerk baits. Fishing for trout was slow.
NAVAJO LAKE: Fishing was slow but there were a few northern pike and brown trout taken.
SAN JUAN RIVER: The water flow below Navajo Lake Monday morning was 504 cubic feet per second. Trout fishing through the Quality Waters was fair-to-good using midges, egg patterns, leeches, wooly buggers and small hair jigs. Fishing through the bait waters was fair using salmon eggs, jigs, spoons and jerk baits.
